Message	are 35. That's less strain onthe stock harness. It's the ballast that actually takes most of the strain IMO. The other thing you have to keep in mind is there hasn't been one report of a stock light socket/harness burning out. You'll be fine. If it makes you feel better, BMW owners use the Xtec kit as their cheap HID upgrade when they don't want to spend the $1500 for the factory headlight assembly/xenon's.
